According to the New York Times, Paul Ryan rushed to the White House to deliver the news to President Trump. After Trump served an ultimatum to the GOP on Thursday to make the vote happen or else they will be stuck with Obamacare, his leadership team left prepared to hold a vote today. At the present time in the House of Representatives, the American Health Care Act appears to fall short of the votes needed to pass.
America’s newly elected president made it clear that he would “keep it moving” if the House of Representatives did not pass the bill today.

The proposed AHCA has been criticized as greedy, showing no mercy towards the poor, and heartless by people on both sides of the political spectrum. It is estimated that 24 Million fewer Americans would have healthcare coverage under the new bill.

While they had hoped that not having enough votes would cause Paul Ryan to not bring the bill to the House floor, he pressed forward, and the leaders plan to continue until the bill is passed. Currently, 30 to 40 Republicans planned to vote “No”, and that number cannot exceed 22 in order to be successful. Trump, who has been very adept at identifying who to blame both in real life, and on “The Apprentice” is rumored to have plans to place blame for the failure of the bill on Paul Ryan.
UPDATE: Republicans pull the bill prior to voting.
Sounds like it was too complicated and serious of an issue to rush through.
