Attorney James E. McMillan appeared on WHDT World News on Sunday, March 19th, 2017 to discuss the controversy surrounding Snoop Dogg’s recent video in which the rapper parodies a President Trump assassination by “shooting” a gun that says “Bang.”
Some have claimed that Snoop Dogg crossed the line in this depiction and could be subject to criminal prosecution. While McMillan agrees that the government has a right to protect the president, Snoop Dogg is likely to be protected under the first amendment which guarantees freedom of speech. “I don’t think Snoop has anything to worry about,” McMillan stated.
